Background, aims and goals

At an early stage during discussions about how to celebrate Adolf Fredrik's 70th anniversary the idea of a major choral festival took shape. Apart from giving the school's pupils a unique opportunity to meet and make contact with their contemporaries from around the world in a musical context, the idea was that Let the Future Sing should be an important gathering place for professional musicians in general and choral directors in particular and an important opportunity for exchange and development of ideas and techniques.The international choral festival Let the Future Sing has become synonymous with Adolf Fredrik's 70th anniversary and is a major contribution to the school's existing international exchange programme.

Adolf Fredriks Music Classes' 70th anniversary

“Let the Future sing” is the name given to the Adolf Fredriks international choral festival 28th May to 4th June 2009 with the participation of nine of the world’s most prestigious children’s and youth choirs. 500 guest choral singers will be joining 1100 pupils from Adolf Fredriks Music Classes in a festival choir of unprecedented proportions!
